This website has been created to highlight the programs and services provided by our agency.

DHCTB is a non-profit agency available to meet the needs of more than 350,000 deaf, hard of hearing and late deafened residents of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Services include case management, counseling, sign language classes, advocacy and community education and assistive device sales. The agency also offers amplified telephones, captioned telephones, TTYs and related equipment free to qualified Florida residents. They also offer free hearing screenings by appointment, low-cost hearing aids, cleaning and repairs.

The mission of the Deaf and Hearing Connection is to EMPOWER people affected by hearing loss to function as productive, independent and self-reliant citizens.

Learn Sign Language

As many people know, being a deaf person poses some difficult challenges in every day life. Most of all communicating with others. This is where sign-language comes in. Have you ever thought about taking a Sign Language class? Don’t put it off. Now is the time! This is an 8 week evening class and includes basic communication skills, vocabulary, lots of practice, Deaf culture information and lots of fun.
